LOCAL LIFT FOR YOUTH HUB

 

Giant walls tipping the scales at 26tonne have been erected at the site of the exciting new Youth Hub, part of construction to transform the JD Hardie Centre in South Hedland.

 

Locally owned and operated, Gravity Crane Services were on site to lift the mammoth concrete tilt-up walls into place. General Manager Tom Fraser said “we deployed our new Demag AC 350tonne crane and maximised its capacity on the larger lifts, fitting an 116tonne counterweight.” The big job saw 50 panels erected in three days.

Major contractor, Broad Constructions contracted WA Universal Rigging in Perth who recommended Gravity Crane Services to undertake the major lifts. “We engaged Gravity for their late model equipment, professional service and commitment to safety” said WAURC’s rigging supervisor, Aaron Holding.
